Week 1 of My Morning Routine Journey

G=Goals O=Outlook  A=Authentic  T=Truth(#coateisaGOAT)

This past week, I officially started my Miracle Morning routine inspired by Hal Elrod’s book. My alarm goes off at 5:20 a.m., and I’ve committed to the SAVERS—Silence, Affirmations, Visualization, Exercise, Reading, and Scribing—before the rest of the world wakes up.

Not going to lie—Monday felt like a win, but by Friday, the snooze button and I had a moment. Still, I got up before 6 AM, and that’s what matters. Over the weekend, I adjusted by waking up about 30 minutes earlier than I normally would, just to protect my SAVERS time. It’s been a stretch, but also a reminder that discipline doesn’t come easy—it’s built one choice at a time.

What’s keeping me going is remembering that it’s not about perfection; it’s about progress. I’m leaning into James Clear’s Atomic Habits mindset of becoming 1% better each day. Those small wins, stacked over time, lead to transformation.

Graph illustrating the concept of tiny gains, showing the effects of improving 1% every day versus declining 1% every day over one year.

My short-term goal? Stay consistent through January. By then, I’ll have a fresh vision board and, hopefully, a stronger rhythm to my mornings. My long-term goal? A year of showing up for myself at 5:00 a.m.

I know this will take trust in the process, grace when I stumble, and perseverance to keep pressing forward. So here’s to week one being done—and to the countless mornings ahead where I get to choose growth, discipline, and renewal.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

What’s one small shift you can commit to this week that makes you 1% better?
