G=Goals O=Outlook A=Authentic T=Truth (#coateisaGOAT)
This past week, I found myself in Austin, Texas for a work conference—my first time in the city. And let me tell you, Austin did not disappoint. The energy, the food, the creativity of the city… it was all such a blessing. The conference itself was semi-useful, but the trip as a whole? It was productive, refreshing, and honestly a much-needed distraction.
Because the truth is… underneath all of that, I was walking through a battle in my mind.
I had a job interview scheduled for Friday. A real possibility. A door that could open. A door that I’ve wondered about, prayed about, and tried to trust God with. And every time the thought of it crossed my mind, fear and anxiety came crashing in like a wave.
I kept saying—out loud and in prayer—“Lord, I trust You. Your timing is perfect. What’s meant for me will find me.”
But the minute I tried to rest in that truth, my mind would start spinning: What if you’re not good enough? What if you said the wrong thing? What if you’re not what they’re looking for? What if… what if… what if…
I hate how quickly fear and anxiety can drown out the faith that I know is real.

The interview came and went, and honestly, I think it went well. But even now, as I wait for the call—whether it’s a yes or a no—I can feel those anxious thoughts trying to take over. And the thing is… I love what I do right now. I’m at peace where I am. I know anyone who interviewed would do a great job. So this isn’t about comparison or competition.
It’s about trust.
It’s about believing that if this opportunity is for me, nothing can keep it from me. And if it isn’t, then God is protecting me, redirecting me, and preparing something better. Maybe a different door. Maybe deeper impact where I already am.
Either way, His plan is still His plan.
And yet… here comes fear, whispering lies. Here comes anxiety, twisting the truth. Here comes insecurity, trying to rewrite the story God already promised to finish.
Today at church the message was about spiritual warfare—about how the enemy creeps in with distractions, fear, doubt, unnecessary problems, and emotional chaos… especially when something good is on the horizon. Especially when God is positioning you for more.
It hit me so hard.
Because that’s exactly what this week felt like:
spiritual warfare in the space between “I trust You” and “I’m terrified.”
Scripture says,
God is not the author of confusion but of peace. — 1 Corinthians 14:33
So if fear is loud… if anxiety is overwhelming… if insecurity is screaming… then I know exactly where that’s coming from—and it’s not from God.
Jesus tells us,
Do not be afraid; only believe. — Mark 5:36
Only believe. Not overthink. Not spiral. Not assume the worst. Just… believe.
So this week, I’m reminding myself of this:
Fear lies. Anxiety lies. God does not.
His timing is perfect. His plan is intentional. His protection is real. His goodness is steady—even when my thoughts aren’t. And whatever is meant for me—whatever He has written—will find me. Not by chance. Not by luck. But by His faithfulness.
Lord, help me trust You even when my mind tries to argue otherwise. Help me recognize the enemy’s voice and cling to Yours. Help me breathe in peace and breathe out fear. Your will. Your way. Your timing. Always.
